Germany, Imperial. A Rare Submarine (U-Boat) Badge By W.h. Hold but multiple torpedo hits(U Boot Kriegsabzeichen). An ovular badge constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse centre bears the cut out image of a submarine, encompassed by a laurel wreath tied with ribbons topped by a German State Crown, the reverse is plain and bears a magnetic horizontal tapered pinback with a flat catch, marked WH encompassed by an ovular border on the pin, measuring 50. 37 mm (w) x 48. 10 mm (h), weighing 30. 2 g, very fine.
