Baden, Grand Duchy. An Order of the Zähringer, II Class Knight’s Cross with Swords visually-hidden vertically oval cartouche with the(Orden vom Zhringer Lwen Ritterkreuz II. Klasse mit Schwertern). Instituted 26 December 1812 by Grand Duke Karl Friedrich. (1866 1918 issue). Constructed of silver with gilt and multi coloured enamels, consisting of a narrow Cross Patte with its arms joined through the quadrants by arabesque latticework, the obverse with green enameled arms, bearing a central white enameled medallion with a detailed and hand painted depiction of Zhringen Castle,
