Constructed of neusilber, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a central raised crown, within a laurel wreath, the reverse with an inscription of FR TREUE DIENSTE BEI DER FAHNE (FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE TO THE FLAG), above a number 9 in Roman numerals, within an oak leaf wreath, unmarked, measuring 31. 38 mm in diameter,
