Moorcroft Heritage Rose Plaque Brooches Designed by commemorative specialist designerMoorcroft designer, Emma Bossons was inspired by a hand coloured engraving of a rose styled as Rosa centifolia purpurea from Henry Cranke Andrewss Roses: or a Monograph of the Genus Rosa Volume 1 (London, 1805 1828). Moorcroft artistry has captured the large, fully double blooms of rich purple, with a mustard yellow central eye under glaze. This is not easy. The antique engravings used difficult colour shades: mulberry, grape and even egg plant.
