Mercadante, Saverio - Autograph Letter Signed 1843 Programs Ballet Photo by James KriegesmannItalian composer (1795 1870) mostly of operas, Mercadante was very famous in his time and was important in the development of opera. 1 page autograph letter in Italian signed by him in Turin, 1843, where he mentions the writing of a new opera called Il Reggente and mentions his previous work Il Giuramento, attached to a small portrait of him over the upper right corner. ALSO INCLUDED are handwritten transcription and translation.
