It can range in color from pale pink to deep rose or even rusty red tones depending on the concentration of Manganese. The stone was first discovered in Sweden in the 1830s. It was named from the Latin "Thule" which was a term used by ancient Greeks and Romans to refer to the then little known lands to the north or present day Scandinavia.
