A silver Maltese cross with white enamels and ball finials, with a crowned "O" (for "Oscar") in each quadrant, obverse centre in red enamels with a silver Norwegian Lion overlay, with a white and blue enamel surround, reverse centre presenting the motto of the order RET OG SANDHED (Justice and Truth), adorned by silver crown with red, white, and blue
