Instituted 7 May 1765 by Stanislaus II Augustus Pontiakowski. Type II. Reinstituted by Tsar Nicholas I in 1832. Civil Division. In Gold, consisting of a Maltese Cross with ball finials and red enamelled obverse arms, with ribbed fans adorning the knee of each arm crowned double headed eagles in each quadrant, the central obverse medallion presents a white enamelled applique with red Latin script in the form of the monogram of Saint Stanislaus,
