De helm werd rond de 3de eeuw gedragen en had mogelijk naast een practische ook een symbolische functie. Opvallend genoeg werd deze helm later in de Renaissance als DE Romeinse helm gezien en staat hij ook op veel verschillende schilderijen uit deze tijd afgebeeld. Deze helm is gemaakt van 1,5 mm dik staal en heeft een leren inleg. Hij is geschikt voor en hoofdomtrek tot 64 cm.
