Whale: Hope Product:Whale: Hope in an open cube shapeStanding on the back of a whale, a figure scans the horizon, preparing for life's possibilities during a time of great change. The whale is crafted from cedar, which is carved using a band saw and finished with a sander. The figure, made from poplar, is sculpted with a rotary carver. The pieces are finished with layers of latex enamel paint. A hand painted poem adorns the underside of the whale, adding further meaning. The poem, "Oceans", by J. R.
